Leah and Joe's evening Wedding at Hartley Botanica in Ventura was not one I will soon forget. This venue is romantic and whimsical with both garden and forest feels.
This wedding had me at the tunnel of trees entrance into the venue. The amount of greenery that surrounded the property made you feel like you were in your very own secret garden. Before arriving at the venue I had a chance to sneak over and capture moments at the bride & grooms place. I will never forget messaging with the bride before I got there and her telling me that she was already crying! Those are the moments that I strive to capture, those moments of pure uncontrollable happiness. It's the realization that soon you will be walking down that aisle to marry the man of all your dreams.
I love watching a bride get ready, especially in her own house, and her seeing all the pieces coming together as she imagined. As her bridesmaids arrived and indulged in the champagne and treats, I went straight to the dress to capture its stand alone beauty before it's outperformed by the gorgeous bride wearing it. Leah's dress was all lace with beautiful pearl and diamond earrings adding to her overall vintage and timeless wedding she wanted. With her bridal angel in hand and a few spritz of her Jo Malone bridal perfume, they all loaded into the party bus to head to the venue. ** Although I have to mention I did sneak Leah away for some "Just for Him" bridal boudoir pictures before they left and can I just say...WOWZAA! I wish I had done these on my wedding day!
With guests arriving soon and the sun about to set, the bride finished getting ready along side her bridesmaids, Mother and grandmother. While the soon to be husband was running around the venue making sure everything was perfect for the love of his life, he was a very involved Groom and that was a stand out for me for sure. You could feel his excitement and anxiousness to finally be at this point in their lives! You guys, when a couples love can make you want to call your husband and tell him you love him, you know it's the real deal.
I couldn't wait to watch Joey's reaction down the aisle because I KNEW we were going to see some teary eyes. :) He didn't disappoint and neither did she, there wasn't a dry eye in the house when it came time for their personal vows to each other. And just like that, at the end of the candle lit aisle and under the sparkle of the chandelier above them, they were officially husband and wife!! The rest of the evening they spent dancing and singing (like seriously with mics...my kinda people). Filling the venue with their love for each other and their love of music.
Leah, thank you so much for allowing me to be apart of and capture your special day. You have the sweetest soul and anyone who meets you can sense your sincerity and love for your now husband. You two are truly magic and the way you look at each other and talk about each other is something I will always remember.
Joey, the surfboard in the backyard instantly made you a rad dude in my book :) Thank you for asking how I was doing and making sure my second shooter and I were fed, When the day was about you two! You clearly go above and beyond for everyone around you and I am so thankful to have met you and Leah. Oh and thank you for trusting me with your stunning as well as very meaningful rings! ;)
